Avoiding Slip, Trip and Fall Hazards | Joe Morten & Son

Walking and working surfaces pose an increased risk of serious injury if you are not careful. Wet floors, obstacles blocking a pathway, and climbing on and off equipment are examples of when slips, trips, and falls are most common.To help avoid injury, read the prevention tips below and try applying them to your daily routine.

avoid slip hazards

  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Avoid distracted walking.
  • Report hazards immediately.
  • Wear shoes with slip-resistant soles.
  • Clean up spills, if possible.
  • Set out warning signs for others.

  • Watch for obtacles in your path.
  • Avoid distracted walking.
  • Report hazards immediately.
  • Remove obstacles immediately.
  • Wear shoes with toe protection.
  • Be attentive in dimly lit areas.

 

Avoid fall hazards

  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Wear fall-protection devices.
  • Use three-point contact on ladders and elevated positions.
  • Report hazards immeditely.
  • Beware of open service pits and docks.
